The second Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge is at Ban Song Pueai, Bang Sai Yai Subdistrict. It is 7 kilometers away from the province to the north, crossing the river to Ban Na Kae, Kanthabouly City, about 5 kilometers north of Savannakhet District. It was officially opened on December 20, 2006. The bridge style is a 2-lane concrete bridge, the surface is 8 meters wide, and the shoulders on each side are 1.5 meters in length. The total bridge is 2,702 meters long. This Friendship Bridge is part of the development of transport routes. It connects from the east, Danang City (Vietnam), across the Mekong River at Savannakhet Province to Mukdahan and the west at the Thai-Myanmar border at Mae Sot District and Myawaddy and to the end Mawlamyine city of Myanmar. Traveling across the bridge, visitors can take only international buses, 45 baht per person. On the Thai side, there is no fee for arriving. As for The Lao PDR, Passport, weekdays 20 baht, holidays 40 baht, border pass, and temporary border passes, 50 baht on weekdays, 100 baht on holidays. There is a bus stop at the foot of the second Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge.
